Why I Built Stiimi

In 2022, our family was thrust into the world of ASD. We were unprepared, worried, uneducated, and honestly — a little bit scared. At the same time, we were grieving the back-to-back loss of my mother-in-law and my mother to cancer. We were broken, hopeless, and simply didn’t have the strength for another battle.

But there we were, being handed paperwork that confirmed a suspected autism diagnosis for our youngest son. I wanted to be the strong, fearless mom who responds in the most positive and affirming way. But I just didn’t have it in me — not yet. What I did have was a desperate need for support and direction.

I immediately joined every Facebook group I could find — 5, 6, 7 groups for ASD parents. Some for my geographic area, some statewide, a few for local organizations doing great work in the autism community. I needed recommendations for the best Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, BCBAs, developmental pediatricians, sensory-friendly daycares — you name it.

What I found instead was unanswered posts, one or two short replies to long and heartfelt cries for guidance, and other parents near me who didn’t really have the answers either. On top of that, Meta’s algorithm buries community content under ads and engagement-driven posts — so unless I manually visited each of those group pages, I never saw anything.

We deserved more. Our son deserved more. In a world of tech-forward, AI-enabled tools everywhere, why was this the only way to navigate this new ASD life?

Today, we’ve found our way. We’ve built an incredible care team to support our son, and I’m turning everything I learned into the resource I wish I’d had from day one. That’s Stiimi — a supportive online resource for ASD parents. A place for evergreen recommendations, up-to-date therapist availability, education, and community, so you aren’t left searching outdated Facebook threads for answers about your child’s care.

I’m starting with Georgia, where I live, with plans to expand. If this sounds like something that would help you or a loved one, I’m so glad you’re here.

Our Mission

Stiimi exists to make the search for autism resources in Georgia easier, faster, and less overwhelming. Every family deserves access to quality information about the providers and services available to them — without spending hours digging through outdated websites and Facebook groups.

Our directory is carefully curated and regularly updated so families can find the right support when they need it most. From diagnostic evaluations to therapy providers, special education advocates to sensory-friendly businesses, Stiimi brings it all together in one place.

How the Directory Works

Search by location, category, or keyword. Filter by language, telehealth availability, and more. Each listing includes contact information, descriptions, and service details to help you make informed decisions.

Listing Tiers

Free listings include your name, location, category, and contact info. Featured listings add your logo or photo, a detailed description, and premium placement at the top of search results.

Community-Driven

Anyone can suggest a provider to be added to the directory. All submissions are reviewed before publication to maintain quality and accuracy.

Built with Love

Stiimi is built by a parent who walks this path every day. I understand the late-night Google searches, the waitlists, and the hope that comes with finding the right provider.
